The TileLetter Awards have brought great value to past winners.
“We have really gotten attention in the architectural community as a result of the award,” said Nyle Wadford, president of Neuse Tile Service in Youngsville, N.C. “It has reinforced our credibility and given us recognition within that group that I don't think we could have paid for.” Even though Wadford hasn’t yet implemented the planned marketing of last year’s winning award, he said, “Word has spread really through no effort of our own.”
For John Cox, president of Cox Tile in San Antonio, the TileLetter awards have boosted business in a number of ways. “The recognition has helped in securing jobs that may be close and they need a little more affirmation,” he said. “Also with the design architectural fields it sets your company apart from your competition. There are so few awards that are given to this field, that even the Award of Merit is something that gives you some differentiation.
“We will continue to enter the competitions for several reasons,” he added. “The first being we are constantly searching to stay ahead of our competitors, second self satisfaction of exceeding the expectation of our customers.”
Eric Ross, owner of Eric Ross Tile Company in Redding, Calif., said the distinction of being a TileLetter Award winner helps his company stand out in the current tight economy with general contractors who are branching out of their region for businesses and homeowners who are remodeling instead of selling. “We have used it in radio and print ad campaigns, and will continue to use it in the future,” he said. “We feel it gives us an edge on the competition in attracting new clients, recognizes our talent and shows our credibility to general contractors from out-of-the-area who may not be familiar with Eric Ross Tile Co.”
