Gruen celebrates growth, hires Gülsüm Gurdal as marketing director

Dan Holcomb, COO & President, Gruen Systems USA recently sent out a letter to friends and supporters about the growth of Gruen Systems USA. He stated, “This week, we hit a major milestone at Gruen Systems USA: we’ve officially moved from proof of concept to growth mode. It’s a proud moment I want to share.

“A few years ago, our founders, Omer and his brothers, Murat and Fatih, set their sights on the U.S. market,” he added. “After building a strong foundation across Europe, Omer and his family saw an opportunity to bring Gruen’s quality, innovation, and sustainability to a broader audience. Their family has enjoyed global success since 1967, when they began a legacy of stainless steel manufacturing, designing, and innovating. It was hard for me to imagine there wasn’t a place for their exceptional products here, but as with any entrepreneurial venture, the first step is always proving the concept.

“Last year, I brought Gruen Systems to Coverings for the first time alongside our director of technical services and products, my right-hand man here in North America, Mark Pennine, and our strategic partner, Decovita,” Holcomb continued. “We showcased our innovative WallLine, Cuttable Drains, adjustable flanges, installation systems, and accessories, designed for both traditional unbonded installation methods and newer bonded membrane installation in the same box.

“The response? People noticed,” he wrote. “They admired the craftsmanship and saw the potential. But we knew it would take time to build momentum.

“That momentum arrived,” Holcomb exclaimed. “Over the past year, we’ve forged strong distributor partnerships, celebrated successful installs, and earned feedback that only comes from real-world results. At Coverings 2025, the market spoke loud and clear. Customers sought us out, industry leaders stopped by, and the message was unmistakable: Gruen Systems belongs here.”

Holcomb detailed the steps Gruen will tackle as it steps into growth mode:
