The Adhesion Linear Drain is inspired by the science of adhesion, where water droplets stick to various surfaces to create unique patterns. To develop this abstract visual, the Gensler team poured water onto luxurious surfaces to observe how droplets formed and gathered. The result is a modern, dynamic design that emphasizes the beauty of irregularity while avoiding a repetitive tiling effect.
Details that Make the Difference
While the circular water droplet pattern is familiar, the rounded shapes introduce a progressive twist, adding flair and an upscale energy. Additionally, the edges of the cutouts reflect light off the steel, mimicking the glistening quality of water droplets. The Adhesion pattern is more than a captivating visual concept; it offers an original grate design with unique spacing that enables uninterrupted water flow.
