Crafted in Spain, Tile Club’s new Calta tile collection captures the timeless character of handcrafted 10th-century Moroccan zellige with modern technology, using 21st-century porcelain.
To achieve an authentically artisanal look, the brand’s designers sourced true handcrafted tiles and used them as a foundation for digitally scanning over 80 unique face variations across 14 colorways, giving each tile its own subtle texture and color movement. The result is a surface that reads as genuinely handmade, without sacrificing the hygiene and performance of porcelain.

Available in two subway formats, 2” x 6” and 4” x 6”, Calta is offered in both glossy and matte finishes, which can be mixed to create customized layouts and patterned installations. Often described as “life-proof zellige,” the collection offers the artisanal look of handcrafted tile with the advanced durability and performance offered by porcelain. It is resistant to staining, compatible with heavy-duty cleaning, and performs in submerged applications without cracking. This versatility supports a broad range of design applications, providing added design flexibility.
Calta’s glossy tiles are approved for low-traffic flooring, while the matte finish is engineered for high-performance use, including commercial flooring applications. With a PEI 5 rating—the highest possible for abrasion and wear resistance—and an R10-B slip rating, Calta is built to withstand heavy traffic and demanding environments.
Both finishes are also frost-proof, making them ideal for swimming pools and water features, as well as walls, backsplashes, and shower applications.
The 4” x 6” format is available in seven colorways: Brown Matte, Charcoal Gray Matte, Green Matte, Greige Matte, Ice Matte, Terracotta Matte, and White Matte. The 2” x 6” format offers an additional four options: Blue Gloss, Latte Gloss, Pearl Gray Gloss, and Teal Gloss.
