Pro Tiler Tools (PTT) has secured its sixth major business award finalist position of 2026, as continued investment, product development, and record trading strengthen the specialist supplier’s position within the UK tiling sector.
The Northampton-based business was named a finalist for BIG Business of the Year at the 2026 Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards, adding to recognition already secured across national and regional awards for growth, innovation, and overall business performance.
“Being shortlisted for BIG Business of the Year is another fantastic milestone for Pro Tiler Tools, but what makes this recognition particularly meaningful is the breadth of what the judges are looking at—from financial performance and innovation to customer service, marketing, and our people,” said Managing Director Sam Bucknall.
The latest shortlist comes during a significant period of expansion for Pro Tiler Tools. Turnover has increased from £21.7 million in FY23 to £35.2 million in FY25 and is forecast to exceed £40 million in FY26.
“We’ve grown quickly, but our focus has always been on building the infrastructure behind that growth,” Bucknall noted. “We want to make sure that as order volumes increase, customers continue to receive the speed, service, technical knowledge, and reliability they expect from us.
“To now have six finalist positions across four different awards programs, recognizing different areas of the business, is a huge credit to our team and the supplier and customer relationships that have helped us get here.”
Commercial performance has continued to accelerate during 2026 and PTT has continued investing in the infrastructure required to support that increased demand. More than £50,000 has been invested in handheld warehouse technology and integrated operational dashboards, helping the business manage an operation that handled 202,929 parcel orders and 34,934 pallet orders over the rolling year.
Despite those volumes, PTT has maintained 99.79% dispatch accuracy and a 98.1% delivery success rate, alongside its 9 p.m. next-day dispatch service.
PTT’s own-brand PREMTOOL range recorded 76% growth during the first four months of 2026, and the portfolio has continued to expand in response to the practical requirements of professional tilers, including a major expansion of its diamond blade range and the introduction of adhesives and primers.
Alongside BIG Business of the Year, the company was shortlisted this year for Business Innovation and Business of the Year (More than 50 Employees) at the SME National Business Awards; High Growth Business of the Year at the Northamptonshire Business Awards; and two categories at the Growing Business Awards: High-Growth Midlands Business of the Year and Growing Business of the Year: Turnover £25m–£50m.
About Pro Tiler Tools
What began in a single industrial unit on JBJ Business Park in 2008 has become one of the UK’s fastest-growing tiling supply businesses. Founded by professional tiler Andy Bucknall and his wife Wendy, Pro Tiler Tools was born out of frustration with the lack of easy access to high-quality tiling tools and materials. Joined later by sons Sam and Todd, the Bucknall family gradually shifted from tiling to retail, growing from one small unit to three, before becoming a limited company in 2010. Following its recent move into its brand-new 140,000-sq.-ft distribution center in Pineham, Northampton, the company has expanded its workforce from 48 to 62, added roles across warehouse, procurement, marketing and key accounts, and now operates out of a six-times-larger flagship unit in Prologis Park Pineham near the M1 with vastly improved access and display space.
