(Clemson, SC)— 1Q 2025 U.S. ceramic tile consumption was 651.2 million sq. ft., up 4.6% from 1Q 2024.1

1Q 2025 U.S. ceramic tile imports were at 476.8 million sq. ft., up 11.5% from 1Q 2024.

Imports made up 73.2% of 1Q 2025 U.S. tile consumption by volume, up from 68.7% 1Q 2024.

Spain was the largest exporter by volume to the U.S. with a 22.1% share of U.S. imports, followed by Mexico (15.7%) and Italy (15.6%).

Spain was the largest exporter to the U.S. on a dollar basis (CIF + duty), making up 28.9% of 1Q 2025 U.S. imports, followed by Italy (28.0% share) and Mexico (11.6% share).

U.S. FOB factory sales of domestic shipments (less exports) in 1Q 2025 were $319.8 million, down 6.6% vs. 1Q 2024.

The $ value/sq. ft. of 1Q 2025 domestic shipments (less exports) was $1.83, up from $1.76 in 1Q 2024.

1Q 2025 U.S. ceramic tile exports were 9.6 million sq. ft., a 13.4% decrease from 1Q 2024. The two largest consumers of U.S. exports by volume were Canada (78.9% share) and Mexico (9.8% share).
