This high endurance, glazed terracotta tile mixes tradition with forward thinking. “We never tire of creating new iterations of this authentic, substantial, original form of baked earth,” says Marble Systems CEO Munir Turunc. “Forté Brick is the result of our design studio’s goal to create a line for residential and commercial use that’s beautiful, durable, value engineered and ready when you need it.” Forte Brick is a tile that’s sophisticated yet feels grounded, combining the sleek and the tactile, the cool and the casual, the urban and the agrarian design traditions. Marble Systems design and development team set out to create a glazed terracotta with exceptional strength and endurance, unusual traits for this often fragile medium. This allows Forté Brick to be used not only on walls but also on floors in residential interiors. In a just-right proportion of 2 1/4”x 7 7/8” the tiles gleam with high-gloss artisanal glazes, perfectly tempered by subtly mottled colorations that keep close to nature. An almost imperceptibly undulating surface adds intriguing movement and subtle texture.
The entire line is stocked in nine colors for quick delivery. Sage, Seaweed and Aquamarine bring all of the currency of the varied green tones that are trending for interiors in 2022 and beyond. The pale blue Sky and pastel blue Brooklyn cover the popular blue range. Gun Metal Glossy (above) offers a sleek metallic glimmer, while Hickory has a warm cinnamon glow. And for purists at either end of the color spectrum, there’s a pure Black and a Royal White glaze, which do not exhibit the tonal variation of the other colors.
