14th annual A+Awards winners honor a new era of architectural craft

Architizer, a leading online global platform for architecture, announces the winners of the 14th annual Architizer A+Awards. Founded on the premise of democratizing architecture, the A+Awards is the industry’s largest and most international awards program and honors the best buildings and spaces from across the globe.

Now in its 14th season, the A+Awards celebrate the work of over 200 firms from 80+ countries. This year’s honorees celebrate a profession turning away from spectacle and toward something more considered: material mastery, regional craft, and projects deeply embedded in place. New categories honoring craft and making join accolades for contextual design, adaptive reuse, and sustainable practices, rounding out a spotlight on architecture that is defined by its intelligence rather than its silhouette. The full list of categories can be seen here

“This year’s projects were a welcome return to thoughtful, human-scaled architecture that puts place, craft and environmental sensitivity first instead of chasing spectacle,” said Ismael Seleit, Head of Applied AI at Gendo.

After reviewing 4,000+ submissions in over 100 categories, the distinguished A+Awards Jury has selected the world’s most considered and thoughtful architecture of the year. The 2026 winners, which are also chosen via an online public vote, reflect a powerful shift in the industry. From projects emphasizing local materials to those leveraging new technologies, this season’s winners comprise firms advancing the discipline in myriad ways. Select winners include:

  • Best Large Firm: Snøhetta
  • Best Medium Firm: Padovani Arquitectos
  • Best Public Projects Firm: Fernanda Canales Architecture
  • Best in Sustainability Firm: tono Inc.
  • Best Residential Firm: Sanjay Puri Architects

The complete list of winners can be found at https://winners.architizer.com/.

The 14th A+Awards were judged by Architizer’s 250+ jury academy comprising leading architecture and design voices, as well as luminaries from the diverse fields of art, technology, fashion, media, business, and real estate.

“This season’s winners show that the industry is moving past the era of the singular gesture,” said Gokhan Avcioglu, Principal, GAD. “Today, the most impactful architecture serves as the mediator between human experience and the natural world.”

With official partners v2com newswire, AIA New York, Aoyama Design Forum, the Global Design Awards Lab, and Aesthetica, Architizer will honor winners online via its 5+ million virtual community. Architizer will also celebrate winners at a series of live events this fall, as well as in its annual anthology Architizer: The World’s Best Architecture.
