Florida Tile’s new Eclipta collection is inspired by the ancient town of Matera, Italy, where the interplay of light and darkness has captivated humanity for centuries. Long before telescopes gazed into the heavens, the people of Matera admired the night sky, creating a unique relationship with the cosmos that has shaped their culture and architecture. Eclipta embodies this rich history, merging the beauty of Italian stone with celestial wonder.
“With Eclipta, we aim to capture the essence of Matera’s ancient architecture and its profound connection to the cosmos,” said Mariana Vasquez, Product Manager at Florida Tile. “This collection reflects how light and shadow interact in our spaces, echoing the awe and reverence felt by those early observers who looked to the stars.”
Inspired by the luminous qualities of the lunar eclipse, Eclipta features four colorways—Lunar White, Halo Ivory, Solstice Beige, and Umbra—each mirroring the moon’s shifting palette and the celebrated limestone of Matera’s cliffs.
Florida Tile’s innovative Dry-Fix technology creates surfaces that are both textured and polished, allowing for a dynamic play between matte and reflective finishes. A 3D finish features a structure that mirrors the design beneath it, resulting in a visually sophisticated surface with rich, tactile depth. The 3D Plus finish elevates this further with polishing and a nano-treatment, achieving a smooth, balanced finish while preserving the depth of the original texture.
A linear grooved deco adds sculptural dimension, while two mosaics capture the timeworn beauty of both Matera Stone and lunar surfaces. Available in 12” x 24” and 24” x 48” field tile formats, Eclipta transforms with every shift of light, making it an ideal choice for modern interiors.
