MOTAWI Tileworks adds Panda Panda Art Tile to Charley Harper Collection

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — May 3, 2022 — Ceramic tilemaker Motawi Tileworks has introduced a new design, 6″x8″ Panda Panda, as part of its long-running collaboration with the Charley Harper Art Studio. Panda Panda captures panda parenthood in Charley Harper’s characteristic Mid-century style. Based on a T-shirt design and print by Harper (1922–2007), Motawi’s 6″x8″ Panda Panda is available in Green and Red.

Tiles can be purchased online at motawi.com and in the Motawi gallery (170 Enterprise Drive in Ann Arbor). Motawi art tiles are also sold in more than 300 locations in the U.S. and Canada. Tiles are suitable for installation or display in frames or easels and have notches for hanging.

“It has been a pleasure working with the Charley Harper Art Studio for 10 years and interpreting these joyful, vibrant images,” said Nawal Motawi, owner and artistic director of The Tileworks. “Panda Panda joins a beloved collection of more than 30 Charley Harper art tiles.”

Founded in 1992, Motawi Tileworks makes handcrafted tile as art pieces and for residential and commercial installations. Now celebrating its 30th year, the company releases new art tiles regularly, including original designs and those based on the work of celebrated artists such as Frank Lloyd Wright and Charley Harper.
