In November, Preben Andreasen took on the role of Sales Manager at OJ Electronics. Preben brings a wealth of sales experience and technical knowledge, ready to contribute to the electronics company. With thorough onboarding, supportive colleagues, and a mentorship program, he has already settled well into his new position, where he has also dived into customer interactions.
Preben Andreasen has had a flying start since joining OJ Electronics as Sales Manager on 15 November. With several years of technical sales experience, his dedication to the technical aspects makes him a perfect fit for the electronics company in Sønderborg.
‒ I have always been driven by technical solutions, so when I heard about the job, it sparked something in me. I enjoy taking a technical and solution-oriented approach to things, Preben Andreasen says and adds:
‒ At the same time, I find it very interesting to understand how the processes for each customer work in order to find the right solution for them.
Previously, Preben worked in sales of packaging for food, insulation, and HVAC, and most recently, he sold conveyor technology to the food industry.
A good introduction to both the job and the OJ family
While Preben possesses both expertise and business acumen, entering a new company is still a significant change. The experienced salesman appreciates that his new employer had a fully organised plan for his onboarding.
‒ The training period is systematised at OJ Electronics, and they have a fantastic onboarding program. I’ve never experienced anything like it. As a new salesperson, it’s great to have something in your calendar. It was made clear from the start that I would be trained thoroughly in the first month before getting involved in customer interactions, Preben Andreasen explains.
As part of the onboarding program, he has interacted with all departments across the company, which has given him a good understanding of the new workplace.
‒ We are many employees, so it’s nice to have met the different people around the organisation. It has the feel of a family-owned business, so you can really sense the family spirit, and I quickly became part of the family, he says.
Additionally, Preben has been part of the company’s mentorship programme, where he has regular meetings with a senior colleague. This ensures he always knows who to turn to if he has any questions.
Relevant sales experience and technical know-how prepare him well for the job
Today, Preben’s initial training is completed, and he has already been in contact with several existing and potential customers.
‒ It’s fantastic that I get to do so much already. I’ve talked to many interesting customers and gained insight into their work, Preben says.
Preben’s ability to understand customers and their challenges played a role in his appointment as Sales Manager:
‒ In addition to his technical knowledge, Preben excels in sales with a focus on long-term relationships and partnerships. He also has experience in international sales in similar markets, which will benefit him as he sells to Europe, Australia, and South Africa for us, Anders Høgh-Skov, Sales and Marketing Director at OJ Electronics, says.
Earlier this year, OJ Electronics was acquired by the German company BITZER, globally renowned for its compressors. OJ Electronics is in the process of being integrated into their Sønderborg branch, BITZER Electronics, which develops and manufactures electronics for controlling compressors, refrigerated containers, and heat pumps.
‒ With the hiring of Preben, it was also important for us to have an employee who is dynamic and ready for change, and I believe he will certainly strengthen our company, Anders Høgh-Skov concludes.
