Tile Heritage Foundation year-end fundraiser runs through December 31

The Tile Heritage Foundation’s Year-End Fundraiser — Art Tile America 2021 — From Sea to Shining Sea, A Virtual Exhibition and Sale — is now live at https://www.tileheritage.org/iframe-4/, with a virtual exhibition and gallery.

Best In Show — $1000 Sponsored by NS Ceramic, Inc. Awarded to  RTK Studio ‘San Diego Automotive Museum Ceramic Tile Mural installation.

The event honors and enhances the visibility of contemporary tilework, while benefitting the Tile Heritage Foundation and 30 participating artists and studios.

Jurors for the submitted works are nationally-recognized tile designer, fabricator and contemporary tile influencer Brigid O’Connor and internationally-recognized ceramic artist and educator Alfredo Ratinoff.

The exhibition explores contemporary tile making and ceramic mosaic. The scope of the exhibition includes works interpreting the natural world, social, cultural, personal, and family stories.

Exhibition hosting and prizes sponsors include $1000 Exhibition Hosting Sponsor Artisan Tile & Marble Company of NJ, Inc. and $500 Exhibition Promotion Sponsor Silverlake Conservation, LLC.

WINNERS and PRIZES:

  • 2nd Prize — $750 Sponsored by ARTO Brick/California Pavers, Inc. Awarded to Katharine Arrow Mosaics  “Up From The Deep” tile panel.
  • 3rd Prize — $500. Sponsored by ARTO Brick/California Pavers, Inc. Awarded to Medicine Bluff Studio   “Easily Distracted.”
  • Spirit of 21st Century Tile Prize — $500 Sponsored by Clay Squared to Infinity. Awarded to NY Tilemakers “City Tree” installation.
  • Tile Heritage Prize — $250 Sponsored by  Merola Sales, Co. Inc. Awarded to Point Arena Tileworks “Psathyrella Aquatica.”
