As part of the “Building, Dwelling, Thinking” program of events at Cersaie 2026, the Ceramics of Italy Tile Competition prize-giving ceremony will be held on September 23 at 5.30 p.m. in The Square Auditorium at the BolognaFiere Services Centre.
The international architecture competition, organized by the Italian ceramic industry and Cersaie, rewards the best architectural projects around the world realized with Italian ceramic surfaces. There are four competition categories: Residential, Commercial, Outdoor and Design & New Applications.
This year, the international jury examined more than 60 projects, assessing them on the basis of creativity, functionality, aesthetic appeal, sustainability, and use of ceramic materials. The projects were realized in Italy, the United States, Canada, Poland, Croatia, Australia, Spain, Ireland, Switzerland, the UK, and Malta.
The jury:
- Steve Clem (chair), Principal Architect at Atlanta-based firm TVS
- Donatella Bollani, a journalist and architect specializing in design, sustainability, and communication
- Alfonso Femia, Deputy Editor of Domus
- Alfonso Femia, an architect, designer, and Founder and President of Atelier(s)
- Filippo Manuzzi, Chairman for Promotional Activities and Trade Fairs at Confindustria Ceramica
