CERSAIE returns to Bologna in September with a new Contract Hall

Cersaie, the world’s largest exhibition of ceramic tile and bathroom furnishings, is fast approaching! This year’s in-person show – set to take place September 27 – October 1, 2021 at the Bologna Exhibition Centre – will be one of the first major design trade shows to occur post-pandemic. Now in its 38th year, the show will be adding a few new features, including Cersaie Digital (a three-week online event) and a new exhibition space called the Contract Hall.

The letter “C” of Cersaie is the leitmotif of the new Contract Hall 18 in terms of both its concept and design. This hall is devoted to networking between the worlds of production and design and clients operating in the real estate and contract sectors.

The Contract Hall has a C-shaped layout — a letter that stands for Contract as well as the concepts of Connection and Concreteness — all of which are key aspects of this year’s Cersaie.

The C-shaped layout of Contract Hall 18 hosts Archincont(r)act, an international plaza featuring 10 leading A&D firms, surrounded by exhibitors from the fields of kitchens, interior and exterior finishes, lighting technology and home automation, outdoor design and wellness — all of which complement ceramic tile and bathroom furnishings in the real estate sector.

Archincont(r)act, a new 2,000 sq. m. stylized international plaza, will sit at the center of the show and feature 10 leading international A&D firms that will create a new B2B area, designed to support networking between exhibitors in the contract sector and design clients operating in the real estate industry: Archea Associati, Florence; Archilinea, Sassuolo (MO); Caberlon Caroppi Architetti Associati, Milan; Iosa Ghini Associati, Bologna; Lombardini22, Milan; NOA* Network of Architecture, Bolzano and Berlin; One Works, Milan; Pininfarina Architecture, Turin; Studio Bizzarro & Partners, Ravenna; and THDP, London (UK).

Surrounding these leading practices are the exhibition spaces assigned to leading industrial companies operating in the fields of kitchens, interior and exterior finishes, lighting technology and home automation, outdoor design and wellness – all of which are sectors that complement ceramic tile and bathroom furnishings in real estate projects.

The successful B2B exhibition format adopted in the Contract Hall has been thoroughly tested over seven editions of Cersaie and received an Honourable Mention at the Compasso d’Oro awards in 2020.
