Extension House unveils bath suite focused on light, texture, and sculptural atmosphere

Within Interconnected Changeable Environments, the Showhome Experience by Jennifer Farrell, the Extension House bath suite has become an immersive exploration of mood, materiality, and emotional design—a layered sanctuary where light itself becomes part of the architecture.

Unlike spaces that rely on expansive outdoor views, this suite intentionally turns inward, creating intimacy through texture, shadow, and carefully orchestrated illumination. Here, lighting is not simply functional, it is atmospheric. A sculptural Kalco pendant hovers above the vanity like jewelry for the room itself, introducing warmth, softness, and a luminous focal point that anchors the entire environment.

Throughout the suite, Farrell uses tile as architectural storytelling. Emser Tile’s Metamor collection is expressed through two dramatically different yet complementary installations, each creating its own emotional rhythm within the space. Behind the soaking tub, layered tile feels painterly and organic, introducing movement, tonal variation, and artistic composition. Inside the shower, vertically stacked tile creates depth, cadence, and shadow, shifting beautifully as light moves across the textured surfaces throughout the day.

Together, these distinct tile activations create a dialogue between softness and structure, artistry and precision—reinforcing the project’s overarching theme of ancient materials interpreted through a modern lens.

Refined contemporary forms from Duravit, including the sculptural soaking tub, floating vanity, and sink, bring calm architectural balance to the suite, while Grohe fittings in dramatic matte finishes elevate everyday rituals through elegant performance and tactile sophistication.

Tailored details from Corston switches and sockets and Signature Hardware door and closet hardware further layer the room with craftsmanship and restraint. Curated through the extraordinary offerings of Ferguson Home, the Extension House Bath Suite embodies the philosophy at the heart of Interconnected Changeable Environments: spaces designed not only to function beautifully, but to create emotional resonance through every material, texture, and moment of light.
