PROVA Tile Installation Products®, a brand of M-D Building Products®, is partnering with The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, Baeumler Quality Construction and Baeumler Design Group on the 2026 Princess Margaret Home Lottery™ prize home, a one-of-a-kind residence that brings together thoughtful design, expert construction, and a shared commitment to supporting cancer research.
As part of its commitment to the project and the work of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, M-D Building Products has donated $20,000 worth of PROVA products and related materials for the construction of the home. The contribution supports a cause that reaches far beyond the walls of the residence, helping advance the ongoing fight against cancer.
“At M-D, we believe that the best partnerships are about more than building beautiful spaces—they are about building something that has a lasting impact,” said Julia Vozza, Director of Brand Partnerships, M-D Building Products. “We are honoured to contribute our products, technical expertise, and support to a project that brings together some of Canada’s leading names in construction and design while helping raise vital funds for cancer research through The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.”
Where performance and design come together
This year’s Princess Margaret Home Lottery prize home represents a unique collaboration between HGTV stars Bryan and Sarah Baeumler, bringing Baeumler Quality Construction and Baeumler Design Group together to create a cohesive vision from concept through construction.
“Our goal was to create a space that feels elevated yet completely livable: refined, warm, and welcoming,” said Sarah Baeumler, Founder and Principal Designer of Baeumler Design Group. “The design reflects my approach, combining natural materials, layered textures, and a soft, timeless palette to bring a sense of calm throughout the home. Every detail was thoughtfully considered to support how people truly live, creating a beautiful backdrop for everyday moments while ultimately helping to support the important work of Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.”
Within the home, PROVA products have been incorporated extensively across the tiled and stone-faced areas, helping provide the waterproofing, drainage, underlayment, and structural support required to execute the project’s ambitious designs.
Approximately 1,000 sq. ft. of tiled floor area features PROVA FLEX-HEAT® underlayment, which provided the basis for the installation of electric floor heating beneath the tile surfaces.
The home features six bathrooms, including a main-floor powder room and a spa in the basement. Each of the home’s bedrooms features an ensuite bathroom, with five showers incorporated throughout the residence.
The shower assemblies showcase a comprehensive range of PROVA® solutions, including:
- PROVA BOARD® on all shower walls for waterproofing and structural support for stone slabs.
- PROVA NICHE® for integrated, waterproof shower storage.
- PROVA LINEAR DRAIN® for contemporary shower drainage and a seamless tiled-finish aesthetic.
- PROVA-MAT® waterproofing over mud beds to accommodate the framing and jobsite conditions encountered during construction.
PROVA BOARD® also played a structural role beyond the bathrooms. Both fireplace surrounds are clad using PROVA BOARD® as part of their construction, while vanity walls in the main-floor powder room and primary ensuite are also supported and waterproofed with PROVA BOARD®, artfully showcasing beautiful stone and tile finishes.
Together, these applications demonstrate how coordinated tile installation products can help translate ambitious architectural and interior design concepts into practical, durable assemblies.
“I like PROVA for its simplicity,” said Anthony Rea, tile contractor for Tile Addict, Inc. “I like that it can be customized on-site with a simple cut if need be.
“I must say, when it comes to tile installation and shower systems, PROVA® is a lot easier to work than I anticipated compared to other systems in the market. And it saved us time with the install process for this very special project.”
Building for a cause
While the home itself is designed to inspire, its larger purpose is philanthropic. The Princess Margaret Home Lottery helps support one of the world’s leading cancer centers, with proceeds contributing to breakthrough cancer research, personalized cancer medicine and patient care.
“Every component of a project like this represents an opportunity to make a difference,” said Bryan Baeumler, Founder of Baeumler Quality Construction. “The support from partners like PROVA allows us to bring my preferred products and their exceptional technical expertise into the home while keeping the focus on the reason this project exists in the first place. Plus, I know I can trust a tile or waterproofing job with PROVA standing behind it.”
The partnership reflects a shared belief that construction can do more than create extraordinary homes; it can bring together manufacturers, builders, designers, and communities around causes that have an impact well beyond the project site.
The Princess Margaret Home Lottery prize home is open to the public for tours. Home Lottery tickets can be purchased online through December 4, 2026.
