As part of its growth plan, The Tile Heritage Foundation (THF) is embarking upon a critical new chapter in its mission to protect and preserve the history of every aspect of the
American tile industry today and into the future. After moving a majority of its collection to the Tile Council of North America (TCNA) campus in South Carolina, hiring Karim Motawi as Executive Director of Development, and expanding its board, the organization has unveiled a brand new website. You’ll find it at https://tileheritage.org/.
Cynthia Faber Smith of TCNA worked along with The Markeetering Group and THF Co-Founder and Executive Director Sheila A. Menzies to update and streamline the website, integrating clear, intuitive navigation into the site.

- The News section includes the organization’s monthly newsletters and Shards ‘n Snippets announcements.
- The Tile History section includes links to U.S. Tile History, World Tile History and Historic Tile Publications.

The Tile Heritage Foundation, founded in 1987 as a nonprofit charitable organization, is dedicated to promoting an awareness and appreciation of ceramic surfaces in the United States. The Foundation serves the need for a historical perspective regarding all ceramic surfacing materials, both past and present. In addition to aiding in the education of the public about the rich and varied history of tile, the organization is a major voice in the preservation of existing installations of rare and unusual ceramic surfaces while enhancing the visibility of contemporary tile work as well.
The new website is a portal into the inspiration, history and value for and from the ceramic tile industry. Be sure to stop by https://tileheritage.org/ and explore this new resource today!
