Dallas, TX – April 22, 2021 – Daltile’s Commercial team is currently launching an updated continuing education unit (CEU) on “The Tile Industry & Green Building” to show the ways tile can contribute toward Green Building certifications.
“Sustainability is a major focus for our commercial customers,” said Whitney Welch, vice president of commercial sales, Dal-Tile Corporation. “To best serve these customers, we have updated our CEU with complete information about our products’ sustainability attributes. As the largest manufacturer and marketer of tile in North America, we have the resources and influence to lead by example with eco-friendly choices. Through our conscientious manufacturing, we produce 100 percent natural, environmentally-friendly tile.”
“Our tiles are made from only natural materials: water, clay, sand, feldspar and other minerals,” added Welch. “With over 98 percent of our manufactured tile products containing some level of pre-consumer (post-industrial) recycled materials, we have helped prevent an average of over 175 million pounds per year from ending up in our nation’s landfills. Additionally, 9 of our 12 North American manufacturing plants recover and reuse 100% of the wastewater generated by the manufacturing process. In one year, we can recycle over 100 million gallons of water. In addition, our tile contains zero VOCs, PVCs, phthalates, asbestos, or formaldehyde.”
