In honor of Dilshaad Ali, known to many as Prince Ali, Higher Standard Tile Owner Isaac Homza has created a song to celebrate the legacy of “one of the best tile helpers”—an expert at waterproofing, tile prep, grouting, silicone caulking, and dependability.
Ali passed away in January from cancer at age 68. Until that time, he worked for many Maui tile contractors, joining Higher Standard in March 2020, and for the tile union before that.
“He showed up on time every day,” Homza said. “He helped train my sons and many others on how to work hard and be a great tile helper. He helped support me this past summer as my mother-in-law died from cancer, too. Ali will be missed but never forgotten.”
