January 24, 2023 — Next week at The International Surfaces Event (TISE), taking place January 31- Feb 2 at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, Nev., both the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) and the Ceramic Tile Education Foundation (CTEF) will offer training and education opportunities for tile and stone installers and contractors.
NTCA classes and demos
NTCA will focus on three topics at TISE: Thick Bed Installations, Mosaic Tile and Thin Bed Installations. Here’s the schedule for the NTCA Programs.
Tuesday, 1/31 – Thick Bed Installations
- Understanding: TISE Tile Expo Theater, 11:30-12:30 p.m.
- Installing: TISE Live Demo Stage, 3 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Wednesday 2/1 – Mosaic Tile
- Understanding: TISE Tile Expo Theater, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
- Installing: TISE Live Demo Stage, 3 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Thursday, 2/2 – Thin Bed Installations
- Understanding: TISE Tile Expo Theater, 11 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.
- Installing: TISE Live Demo Stage 11:45 p.m. – 12:15 p.m.
CTEF Booth Demos: #5479
The CTEF program focuses on Certified Tile Installer (CTI) readiness with demos, a “boot camp” for testing evaluators, and orientation for CTI registrants.
Tuesday, 1/31
- Morning: CTI hands-on testing module demo
- Afternoon: Testing Evaluator Boot Camp with CTEF Academic Director Scott Carothers for future hands-on testing evaluators starts. Orientation for CTI hands-on test registrants takes place; testing modules are set up.
Wednesday 2/1
Come by Wednesday to witness the ongoing CTI hands-on test. Testing Evaluator Boot Camp continues in the morning and afternoon.
Thursday 2/2
- Morning: Demonstration using one of the CTI modules from the previous day
- Afternoon: Testing Evaluator Boot Camp finishes.
