PRODESO HEAT GRIP 5 is a patented heating membrane trusted by contractors and installers around the globe. This polyethylene membrane with rounded square shaped reliefs that form channels specially designed to embed and fasten electric floor heating cables. On the back, a non-woven polypropylene fabric is thermo-welded to ensure the membrane properly adheres to the substrate. The rounded square shaped reliefs, interconnected between them by small channels to ensure the vapour management, are equipped with circular cavities that transfer the loads from the flooring to the support. On the wall of each circular cavity, there are four rectangular-shape holes that guarantee a better mechanical grip of the adhesive and increases the flooring tensile strength.
PRODESO HEAT GRIP 5 is an uncoupling, waterproofing and vapor management membrane, with a thickness of 6.5 mm (≈ 0.26 in). This product does not require expansion joints in the screed before laying ceramic and natural stone tiles.
Uncoupling
PRODESO HEAT GRIP 5 neutralizes the differential movement that arises between the support and the flooring preventing breakage, making it possible to install tiles on problematic supports such as wood and cracked substrates. When using PRODESO HEAT GRIP 5, where movement joints are present in the subfloor, the membrane should be continuous across these junctions.
Waterproofing
PRODESO HEAT GRIP 5 when used with PROBAND 150, waterproofing polyethylene tape covered on both sides with a non-woven fabric in polypropylene and PROBAND KOLL AB, bi-component adhesive, guarantees the waterproofing of indoor environments in contact with water such as bathrooms, saunas and kitchens.
