The tile installation sector takes center stage in Hall 19 at Cersaie

The world of tile installation will once again take center stage at Cersaie 2026, to be held in the Bologna Exhibition Centre September 21-25. For the second consecutive year, the refurbished Hall 19 will host exhibitors and events dedicated to the sector, with its entire exhibition area of more than 5,400 sq. meters fully occupied.

The highlight of the hall will be the 14th edition of Tiling Town (Tile Installation City), organized by Assoposa (the Italian Association of Ceramic Tile Installers and Retailers), which encourages dialogue among industry professionals and promotes Tile Layer Certification in accordance with Italian standard UNI 11493-2. Throughout the exhibition, Città della Posa will host daily technical demonstrations on large ceramic slab installation aimed at architects, engineers and surveyors.

A large area will be devoted to the collaboration between Assoposa and Indexlab, featuring technology demonstrations focused on innovation in ceramic tile installation processes. Visitors will be able to experience virtual reality systems for immersive visualization of ceramic-clad spaces, augmented-reality applications supporting installation and cutting operations through space scanning and surveying systems, as well as demonstrations of robotic and automated technologies used in the creation of ceramic mosaics and decorative patterns.

Also returning this year is Casa Radio, the Italian broadcaster specializing in the home and construction sectors, with a dedicated studio broadcasting a full program of live interviews featuring different themes and guests on each of the five exhibition days. From Tuesday to Thursday, the schedule will also include conferences on key topics in the construction industry, including flooring systems and collaboration between manufacturers, distributors, and installers to promote ceramic products.

Extensive space will also be dedicated to Formedil (the Italian national body for training and safety in construction), with an information desk providing updates on the latest training opportunities offered by Italian building schools—particularly those aimed at ceramic tile installers. In addition, in collaboration with four Italian construction schools (Cuneo, Turin, Parma, and Rome), Formedil’s demonstration area will host nine to 11 students each day who, under the guidance of Assoposa’s Master Tile Installers, will gain hands-on experience in handling, processing, and installing ceramic surfaces.

Another highlight will be the Cersaie World Tiling Lab, a dedicated area covering more than 200 sq. meters, where six teams of tile installers from Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, Morocco, the United States, and Brazil will compete in the installation of ceramic surfaces across six different settings: bathrooms with showers and bathtubs, an outdoor area with a swimming pool, a living area featuring a staircase and fireplace, a ventilated façade with French door and window sill, and ceramic-clad seating. Now in its fourth edition, the initiative is organized through the collaboration between Cersaie, Confindustria Ceramica, the European Union of National Tile Associations (EUF), and the national tile installers’ associations from the participating countries.

Tile installers’ associations from Europe, the United States, Morocco, Brazil, and the United Kingdom will also meet at Cersaie to discuss the most urgent issues concerning tile installation and installer training.
